Safer coasts for the future Coastal Management Reporting Reporting System enables accurate and efficient collection of data on site information and safety interventions performed by lifeguards and surf lifesavers in New South Wales. It provides a best-practice, standardised, and centralised system for coastal safety stakeholders to record information for use in evidence-based decision-making.
The data recorded is viewable on-the-fly in an operational dashboard, providing personnel with an overview of the patterns of site use and incidents at their respective site(s). Additionally, the data is integrated into the Coastal insights: safer coasts for the future ‘Data Analytics Hub’ for in-depth analysis, risk modelling, and reporting.
Shortly, the Coastal Management Reporting System will also ingest data on the number of beach and water users at selected sites using coastal monitoring cameras, as well as information on the weather, water quality, tides, and surf conditions.
